Award recognizes Bayer's dedication to pollinator habitat and conservation education
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever honored Bayer with the Partner in Conservation Award at the 2025 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic in recognition of their outstanding support for the organization’s conservation efforts. The award celebrated Bayer’s key contributions to the organization’s pollinator work since 2015, including the Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program, Milkweed in the Classroom, and National Pollinator Week.
Tim Fredricks, a longtime supporter of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever was present to accept the award on behalf of Bayer. Fredricks, an avid bird hunter and passionate conservationist, is a strong advocate for environmental stewardship, aligning perfectly with Bayer’s commitment to habitat restoration and pollinator health.
“We are incredibly grateful to Bayer for their ongoing dedication to conservation and education,” said Rich Wissink, vice president of conservation programs. “Their contributions have made a lasting impact on our habitat mission, and we are proud to present them with this well-deserved award.”
Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program
Bayer’s partnership with the Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program (PHOP) has been instrumental in expanding pollinator-friendly habitats across the country. Since 2013, the organization’s PHOP program has impacted over 1,100 acres with the help of over 58,000 participants and 650 projects making a significant impact in habitat education and delivery. This program is designed to educate a future generation of conservationists about the importance of our habitat mission with the realization that quality upland bird habitat is also great pollinator habitat.
Milkweed in the Classroom
Through the Milkweed in the Classroom program, Bayer has played a key role in supporting the education of the next generation of conservationists. This program provides schools with all the resources they need to learn about the importance of pollinator habitat including growing milkweed and native seeds within the classroom. Since 2019, 594 classrooms have participated, with nearly 14,000 students actively involved in hands-on learning about conservation.
National Pollinator Week
Bayer’s support of National Pollinator Week has been vital in raising public awareness about the challenges facing pollinators. Through this national celebration, Bayer has worked with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to spark conversation on the importance of protecting pollinators and the ecosystems they sustain.
