Boyt Gun Club Pro Series Shotgun Case - $91
As a bird hunter, I am constantly throwing shotguns into the back of a truck or next to a wet dog in a kennel. While I have my favorite guns for specific hunting scenarios, I also have go-to gun cases I trust to ensure that my firearm will go “boom” when I hit that next field.
It didn't take long for the Boyt Pro Series Shotgun Case to rise to the top of the heap when I started pulling out cases for my next adventure.
At first glance, it immediately strikes you as a really clean and well put together gun case. The quality canvas exterior and leather trim gives it a durable and timeless look, while the thick interior padding provides peace of mind that your firearm is well protected on those rugged back roads.
I personally loved the large exterior accessory pocked that closes with high-quality magnets, keeping choke tubes or cleaning rags secured with your shotgun. Most of my favorite gun cases have this exterior pocket, but the magnetic enclosure is my favorite option for this pocket thus far.
At 52 inches long, this case will fit any shotgun you throw at it, but I'm reserving this one for a more high-end firearm next time we load up the truck to chase birds.

Patternmaster Code Black Upland Choke Tubes - $95
I tested the Code Black Upland Choke Tubes in my Browning Citori 725 Feather on a clay shoot leading up to the season in preparation for using it in the field.
After shooting a number of rounds with my traditional choke tubes I use for upland hunting, I switched over to a Patternmaster Code Black. I have to say, I was impressed.
The slightly extended choke tube with its bronze finish had a nice look. This particular choke tube was similar to an Improved Cylinder tube, and I noticed an improvement in my percentage of clays broken after the switch. I wasn't sure I'd be able to tell a difference shooting clays, but I definitely noticed more powdered targets and less would-be-cripples.
Patternmaster has a variety of options designed for specific circumstances so be sure to follow the recommendations on ammunition type and specifications.
Bonus: I also shot the Anaconda Upland Choke Tube, which was made specifically for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. Again, I was finding myself powdering clays more consistently than with my traditional choke tubes. The Anaconda is a bit more extended than the Code Black from the end of the barrel; the gold finish with upland bird markings is an eyecatcher.
You can find these exclusive PF & QF choke tubes in the PF Store, and a percentage of your purchase goes toward the Pheasants Forever habitat mission.
