Over the past 13 years, the Rooster Road Trip has taken us across the country in search of incredible publicly-accessible upland landscapes. And although crew members come and go, and some of the cornerstone bird dogs have unfortunately moved on, the spirit of this annual endeavor remains true.
Our goal throughout this entire series is simple, and that’s to highlight the fact that public land birds can be had by anyone who’s willing to put in the work. It may not always be easy, but it will always be worth it – that much we can guarantee.
And although we’re staying true to our roots, this year comes with a twist as we expand our focus beyond just pheasant and aim to slide a variety of game birds in our vests, and what better place to search for a mixed bag than Montana?
