Providing leadership for chapter volunteers in the Lone Star State
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to introduce Colton Lusson as the new regional representative for Texas. Lusson will partner with active chapter volunteers to contribute to the organization's goals of improving public and private lands conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Colton to the team in Texas,” said Jerry McDonald, PF & QF’s director of chapter and volunteer services. “He brings a proven track record of cultivating strong and lasting relationships and strategically optimizing client engagement and values, and I have no doubt he will contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission.”
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Lusson will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission in Texas.
Lusson has spent the past six years working in sales and relationship management as a business development manager for Hunter Douglas Inc. Here, he was responsible for a wide portfolio of businesses totaling $6 million. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the uplands with his family and has been a quail hunter since he was young. A lifelong resident of Austin and a graduate of the University of Texas, Lusson resides here with his wife, Sydney, and their corgi named Boba.
“The prospect of connecting my family’s cherished pastime with my career is incredibly exciting,” Lusson said. “I deeply admire the dedication of the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever volunteers, and I can’t wait to work with them to grow and sustain the conservation community in my home state.”
