Bringing passion for hunting and conservation to the community

Pheasants Forever (PF) is proud to introduce the newest chapter in Kansas. The Capital City Ringneck Chapter of Pheasants Forever will cover Shawnee county, rallying volunteers who are passionate about upland conservation, bird dogs, and youth engagement and education.

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. Pheasants Forever’s Kansas regional representative, Mika Rezac, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail, pheasants and other wildlife.

“The chapter volunteers are energized and ready to get to work,” Rezac said. “They bring incredible enthusiasm for bird dogs, conservation, and community outreach, and they’re determined to carry out the mission of PF right here in Topeka. This chapter has the potential to make a lasting difference for both people and wildlife in Shawnee County.”

Members of the chapter are committed to advancing education and outreach highlighting the importance of upland bird habitat. They plan to partner with landowners and community members to improve wildlife habitat, and to host events to connect with conservation and hunting enthusiasts. The group will be hosting a Bird Dogs and Brews event on September 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Happy Basset Barrel House.
