“Gunner,” Pheasants Forever member Cole Hinen’s German shorthaired pointer, made the trip from their home in Columbia City, Indiana to Mitchell, South Dakota, at just 6-months-old. “Gunner’s first trip to South Dakota was very successful and quite a learning experience, even after he got tangled up with a fence,” Hinen says, “After getting him taken care of and bandaged up he was full of energy and very eager to get back at it. I couldn’t leave him locked in the truck!” Hinen serves on the volunteer board and as the Ringneck coordinator for his local Eel River Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
