Concert kicks off weekend festivities, proceeds fuel wildlife habitat conservation

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, in partnership with Pepper Entertainment, are proud to announce its third annual Concert for Conservation, featuring Turnpike Troubadours LIVE at State Theatre on Thursday, February 19 at 7:30pm in Minneapolis. Sponsored by onX Hunt, Purina ProPlan and Hunt The Greatest South Dakota, the concert kicks off weekend festivities ahead of National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic at the Minneapolis Convention Center. All concert proceeds benefit the organization’s upland conservation mission.

Pioneers of the Red Dirt music scene and one of America’s most beloved bands, Turnpike Troubadours has amassed a massive following throughout their renowned career with more than 2.2 billion streams globally and over 1.7 million equivalent units sold. Since their debut in 2005, the band has released seven studio albums, performed countless sold-out headline shows, appeared in Paramount’s hit show “Yellowstone” and were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

Most recently, Turnpike Troubadours added to their historic career with the release of their new surprise album, The Price of Admission, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes all-genre and country charts and earned them their highest Spotify chart debuts to date.

The opening performance for the 2026 Concert for Conservation will feature Dave Simonett, the primary songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist for Trampled by Turtles. He also shares the same roles with his side-project, Dead Man Winter and as a solo artist. Simonett also co-wrote the song "Leaving Town (Woody Guthrie Festival)" on Turnpike Troubadours' "The Price of Admission" album. Simonett is a Life Member of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. He owns two bird dogs and enjoys chasing them through the uplands when he's not on tour.

PF & QF’s Concert for Conservation featured Trampled by Turtles (2023) in Sioux Falls and Muscadine Bloodline (2024) in Kansas City, helping generate more than $200,000 for the organization’s wildlife habitat mission.
