Roughly 13,000 years ago, a continental ice sheet began to disintegrate and its meltwaters created the massive proglacial Lake Agassiz. At its peak, this lake was larger than all of the Great Lakes combined. But what does a giant dried-up ancient lake have to do with the Rooster Road Trip?
The third episode of this year’s Rooster Road Trip highlighted two days of hunting two completely different regions of North Dakota while linking up two folks who have personal and professional stake in the game.
Day two of our annual Rooster Road Trip found us putting eyes on a fresh horizon in western North Dakota as we linked up with North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s Upland Game Management Supervisor, Jesse Kolar.
It was no accident that the first day of the Rooster Road Trip found us in the middle of the Painted Woods Wildlife Management Area. Pheasants Forever, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department and a whole host of partners recently helped acquire and add an additional 166 acres to the existing WMA.
