Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Applaud Launch of MABA 250 Strategy

February 11, 2026 — Washington, D.C. – Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) congratulate the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission on the release of its strategic initiative MABA 250, an important step in this effort by the Trump Administration to drive conservation and economic growth across the country. The Commission, which was established by President Trump in an Executive Order last year, is tasked with implementing the objectives of the Executive Order, including promoting conservation of natural resources while driving economic growth, expanding access to public lands for hunting, encouraging voluntary conservation, cutting red tape, and recovering wildlife species.

“Through MABA 250, the MABA Commission has set ambitious objectives for conservation outcomes, and we are encouraged by its focus on expanding public access for hunting, improving habitat stewardship, and strengthening coordination across federal agencies and partners,” said Ariel Wiegard, Vice President of Government Affairs for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “PF & QF look forward to working with the Commission and the Trump Administration to advance conservation solutions that deliver measurable and impactful results for rural communities, landowners, hunters, and wildlife.”

PF & QF also applauds the announcement by the Chair of the MABA Commission, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, that approximately $8 million will be committed to improving habitat on migration corridors, the largest round of funding under Secretarial Order 3362, issued in 2018 under the first Trump Administration. Seven previous grant cycles have allocated $21.6 million across 86 projects, leveraging over $67 million in matching contributions to implement site-specific conservation activities, such as modifying fences, restoring sagebrush habitat, and constructing wildlife crossings, benefitting a wide range of species such as sharp-tailed grouse, greater sage grouse, elk, mule deer, and pronghorn.
