Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Welcome “Make America Beautiful Again” Executive Order

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever today welcomed President Trump’s new Executive Order establishing the Make America Beautiful Again Commission, a federal initiative to conserve America’s lands and waters, cut red tape, and drive conservation and economic growth.

“We are encouraged to see President Trump renew his focus on conservation, wildlife recovery, and access to the outdoors in his second term,” said Ariel Wiegard, Vice President of Government Affairs for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “This Executive Order lays important groundwork for progress on priorities PF & QF share with sportsmen and women, landowners, and rural communities.”

The order emphasizes expanding opportunities for hunting, fishing, and other recreation on federal public lands, while promoting voluntary partnerships with private landowners to achieve broader conservation goals.

“As the MABA Commission begins its work, collaboration will be key,” Wiegard added. “Drawing on the expertise of trusted partners—state agencies, local leaders, and conservation organizations like PF & QF—will ensure practical, measurable outcomes. We stand ready to assist in this effort by sharing what we’ve learned through decades of voluntary conservation on working lands and through habitat restoration projects with federal and state agency partners nationwide.”

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever looks forward to advancing shared priorities through the Commission, including:

  • Targeted habitat restoration for declining species such as northern bobwhite, lesser prairie-chickens, pollinators, and other upland wildlife
  • Expanded public access to quality hunting, fishing, and recreation opportunities
  • Streamlined permitting and delivery of conservation projects
  • Investment in science-based monitoring to track success and ensure accountability
  • Strengthening the American System of Conservation Funding
