White promoted to new Missouri State Coordinator

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have promoted Andrew White to the position of Missouri State Coordinator. In his new role, White will lead the organization’s partnerships in the state; including relationships with Missouri Department Conservation, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the U.S. Forest Service.

White has been with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever for nearly a decade. He began his career in conservation in 2007 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Wildlife Management from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. He joined the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever family in 2012 as the state’s first Farm Bill Biologist.

“Andrew is a life-long Missourian, quail enthusiast and habitat manager,” said Casey Bergthold, the director of conservation delivery – Midwest for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “He brings over a decade of experience working with landowners, PFQF chapters, and our Missouri conservation partners.”

White said he’s eager to build upon what the Missouri team and their conservation partnership has accomplished already.

“I’m extremely excited with this opportunity to lead such a great team in Missouri,” he said. “Over the years I’ve seen this team grow and develop, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far. I can’t wait to see how much more of an impact we can make for conservation in Missouri going forward.”

White grew up on a 60-acre farm that was enrolled in CRP and heavily managed for bobwhite quail, so upland hunting is in his blood. Today, he and his German wirehair Chief travel all over the country chasing quail, pheasants and waterfowl. He lives in Chillicothe, Mo., where he shares his passion for the outdoors with his fiancĂ© Sarah.

Missouri is home to 26 chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, with a statewide membership of nearly 4,000. The first chapter of Pheasants Forever in Missouri was founded in 1989, and in 2005 the St. Louis Gateway chapter founded the nation’s first official Quail Forever chapter. Since 1989 Missouri chapters have completed almost 11,000 projects and impacted over 114,000 acres in the Show Me State, investing $3.3 million to conserve, restore and protect upland habitat.
