Supporting education and outreach efforts for America’s uplands
As America’s population continues to grow, Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) continue to create new and innovative ways to inspire and introduce people to wildlife and the outdoors. The future of conservation is dependent on a large and diverse audience who care about the outdoors, which is why it’s important to work harder than ever to reach a broader audience who share a passion for wildlife and wild lands. The more people who are introduced to the uplands, the more people there are fighting to protect it for generations to come.
Through PF & QF’s Education and Outreach efforts, Path to the Uplands initiative was developed and continues the organization’s dedication toward working with volunteers, chapters and partners to share our hunting community, passion for the outdoors, and appreciation for wildlife habitat for anyone and everyone who wants to be involved. These programs are supported in large part by contributions from local PF & QF chapters nationwide.
Path to the Uplands programming includes everything from habitat education, to the Women on the Wing initiative, and our nationwide R3 (Recruit, Retain, and Reactivate) efforts, knowing that regardless of your interest or path to the uplands, PF & QF is here in support, every step of the way.
“Contributions to our Path to the Uplands Initiative are critical to the development and delivery of our programs that are focused on educating Americans on the importance of conservation and introducing people to outdoor recreation,” said Drew Larsen, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Director of Education and Outreach. “Funding support allows our staff and our volunteer chapters to host events that are inclusive to all individuals who have an interest in learning about conservation and outdoor recreation. A new program that we’re extremely excited about is our Journey to Conservation Careers Program. This self-paced online program aims to educate high school aged students on the various careers in the conservation space, as well as provide job shadowing opportunities with conservation professionals across the country.”
Without these grassroots contributions, the greater hunting and conservation community would continue to fall by the wayside, leaving fewer and fewer Americans to champion the importance and beauty of our wild places. Here is a list of local Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters who contributed over $10,000 to Path to the Uplands in 2021. Thank you for your continued support and answer to the Call of the Uplands.
