Celebrate Pollinator Power at National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic

National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic has always been about more than just game birds and hunting. True to that theme, this year’s Pollinator Pavilion promises something for everyone and anyone interested in helping butterflies, bees, and grassland songbirds and wildlife, in addition to pheasants and quail.

That’s why Pollinator Pavilion is returning to National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic in 2019, February 22 - 24 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The show is expected to draw 25,000+ attendees, and it’s safe to say that most of them are going to spend some time in the Pollinator Plaza – browsing and learning from the multiple exhibits, visiting with pollinator habitat experts, and attending seminars on how to help pollinators thrive in habitat from  a street boulevard or city/suburb backyard to a small or big farm in the countryside.

One of the best national conservation trends to emerge over the last couple years has been the natural strengthening of the conservation bond between grassland habitat and healthy populations of pollinators. Simply put, what’s good for pheasants and quail is also good for bees and butterflies … and vice versa.

“The designated Pollinator Pavilion exhibit area will focus on all things related to pollinators,” says Drew Larsen, director of habitat education programs for Pheasants Forever / Quail Forever. “Beekeeping supplies, butterfly organizations, pollinator conservation groups, state and federal agencies … they’re all going to be here offering advice and helping attendees become pollinator promoters.”

“There will be something for everybody in the Pollinator Plaza,” adds Larsen. “Our PF and QF biologists will be offering one-on-one habitat and conservation guidance for landowners, farmers, city and suburb dwellers … everybody and anybody can get in on the exciting trend of helping improve pollinator habitat and health.”

In addition, pollinator-focused seminars at the Pollinator Stage will demonstrate how anyone can create a diverse mix of grassland and prairie flowers that will serve as pheasant or quail brood cover while providing essential habitat for butterflies and bees. It’s the ultimate win-win.

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are committed to improving pollinator health and populations, and the Pollinator Pavilion at National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic 2019 is going to be one of the largest gatherings with a bee and butterfly focus held in the U.S. in 2019.
