KFAN Radio’s FAN Outdoors will host a Radio-A-Thon on Saturday morning, Dec. 10 to raise money to purchase land for the Gary Clancy Wildlife Management Area. The program will run from 6 to 8 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 in the Twin Cities and www.KFAN.com worldwide.

Professional outdoors writer Gary Clancy entertained readers for decades in Outdoor News with his stories about hunting and fishing on Minnesota public lands and waters. Clancy passed away last summer after a lengthy battle with cancer, and a coalition of outdoors groups and businesses are raising money to honor him. Dollars raised for the effort have entered Pheasants Forever’s Build a Wildlife Area program and will flow into an account to purchase land that organizers will dedicate in Clancy’s name. During Saturday’s broadcast, FAN Outdoors hosts Billy Hildebrand and PF’s Bob St.Pierre will interview friends and family of Gary, including son-in-law Lee Clancy at 6:35 a.m., Outdoor News Managing Editor and President Rob Drieslein at 6:55 a.m., and Minnesota DNR Commissioner Tom Landwehr at 7:35 a.m.

People interested in donating should visit PheasantsForever.org/KFAN during the broadcast.  As a special incentive, Twin Cities-based Apple Auto Group announced this week that it will match all donations made during the show’s broadcast. Additionally, listeners who donate $50 or more during the show will receive a Browning knife. Folks can take advantage of both offers by making their donation at PheasantsForever.org/KFAN from 6 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
