Five Question Friday: Rick Lopez

Five Question Friday with Rick Lopez, youth/education chair of the East Central chapter and chair of the Indiana State Council of PF.
PF: The most amazing thing you've seen in the wild was...?
RL: The most amazing sites in the wild for me were my sightings and photographs of dozens of eagles, grizzly bears I other animals on a 32 day backpack trio through many regions in Alaska; the photographs in the wild of the 'Big Five' (Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo) and dozens of other species during a 5-week safari in the Bush in South Africa & Zimbabwe; and my scuba diving hobby in many of the world's oceans have provided amazing sites to video tape of colorful reefs, manta rays, sharks, dolphins and countless types of underwater wildlife.
PF: Twenty years ago, no one knew what the internet was. What could we expect 20 years from now?
RL: Twenty years from now I would like to see the universal use of 3-D full color holographic image communications. I was privileged to see a demonstration of this technology recently and it was spectacular. If the grandeur of natures flora, fauna, creatures and geographical wonders could be simulcast to classrooms in 3-D holographic real-time images, it would greatly enhance and expedite the learning curve.
PF: What destination (that you've never been to) is next on your list?
RL: I hope to do one or two of these trips this year and next year.
- Tour and photograph the Inca site of Machu Pichu near Cuzco, Peru I have visited most of the Mayan & Aztec sites in Mexico, Belize and some other countries.
- A scuba dive to the great barrier reef combined with a tour of Australia & New Zealand
PF: You can't live without...?
RL: Life would be much less enjoyable without events and outings with my family members, friends, and our pets - German Shorthair pointers. We also benefit from camping, hiking, planting, fishing and just relaxing on our family farm fields and woods that we have converted all tocertified habitat grounds.
PF: Late night, do you watch Leno, Letterman, O'Brien or Kimmel?
RL: I first tune into the weather channel, then the CNN update and then checkout who is the guest on Leno and Letterman shows. If it is not someone I want to hear from I move on to and outdoor or history channel until I drift off reading a book.
