Five Question Friday with John Linquist, PF Regional Wildlife Biologist in Western Iowa.

PF: Who do you expect to be the number one pick in this weekend's NFL draft?

JL: Most defiantly Scott Stephenson of Iowa State University... GO STATE! If not him then I suppose Brady Quinn.

PF: How many times have you seen "Field of Dreams"?

JL: At least four times, it's a great movie for the ages. Every kid dreams about playing ball in the great state of Iowa...and hunting birds there too.

PF: Growing up, you listened to... ?

JL: Hair Nation Man... Rock and Roll! REO, Kinks, AC DC, ZZ Top, all the great long hairs of the day.

PF: The best thing to do in the spring in Iowa is... ?

JL: Get kids outside and hunt turkey or go wader fishing...walleyes are a riot in the early season...and tasty as well! Mushroom and asparagus hunting are fun also. I enjoy taking the dog outside for walks and playing a little fetch...he throws, and I retrieve!

PF: What's the best single piece of advice you can offer pheasant hunters?

JL: Enjoy the great outdoors while passing on the legacy to a youth. Get a kid out there with you, and watch their eyes as they harvest their first bird...it's the most awesome experience an outdoorsman can have. As I look back at my childhood days, the best memories I have were from days in the field while hunting with family and friends who took the time to teach me "the right way" to be a sportsman.
