Pheasants Forever Life Member John Newpower’s 3-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever, “Kiya,” flushed and retrieved her first rooster of the 2016 season in Conservation Reserve Program land near Slayton in southwest Minnesota. “What I enjoy about this picture is the intensity on Kiya’s face,” Newpower said. Newpower is also the volunteer president for Minnesota’s Anoka County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
