Meet 9-year-old Gauge with owner Lee Schaefer and lifelong friend Marty Barnett hunting near Alexander, Iowa in November 2014. According to Barnett, “Gauge is a vizsla with a zest for pheasant hunting and a nose for birds! He is relentless and patrols the cover in front of us at rocket speed until he catches a scent and then goes on the low-to-the-ground crawl as he closes in. He’s truly a pleasure to hunt behind.” Marty Barnett is a Pheasants Forever Life Member who lives in Arizona but hunts in his home state Iowa, largely in Franklin County.
