“Bob” is Pheasants Forever member Scott Lichty’s Airedale terrier. Now retired from the uplands at 13-years-old, Lichty says Bob had a great nose and high drive to find birds. “He had a special talent for trailing pheasants that I had to learn to trust as his handler,” Lichty says. In September 2009, Bob became the first Airedale in history to earn an AKC Hunt Test title. “Over his long hunting and hunt test career, he was hunted over and watched in the field by many people who had never seen an Airedale work in the field. He convinced these people how good a hunting companion an Airedale can be.”
